Where to Go in Sochi with Kids30 May

Sochi is known not only for its unique climate and extensive beaches but also for the abundance of exciting places to visit with children. There are many interesting spots here, and since the Olympics, even more have appeared.

Sochi Park

Sochi Park is a whole universe spread over 25 hectares, designed to amaze, inspire, and bring joy to every visitor. For young heroes and adventure lovers, there are "Bogatyr Races" through a fairy-tale town full of colorful houses and amazing bridges. Young guests can have fun at the "Medvediya" club, where they will find a trampoline complex, an obstacle course, 3D labyrinths, and stylish rooms for children's parties — this kind of relaxation will appeal to every little one. For those who love heights, the "Wheel of Time" offers a ride to a height of 60 meters, providing a breathtaking view.

The "Cosmic Jungle" is a unique rope park under tropical greenery and palm trees, where anyone can test their agility and coordination. A special treat for both kids and adults is the visit to the dolphinarium, where you can watch friendly Black Sea dolphins play, interact with trainers, and delight the audience. This spectacle will leave no guest indifferent. There are extreme slides like "Zmey Gorynych," a high-speed looping slide "Quantum Leap," and the "Perpetual Motion" with 360-degree spins. The highest freefall tower in Russia, "Firebird," is also located here.

The single entrance ticket grants access to the dolphinarium, children's performances, and other shows. Ticket prices depend on height.

Children under 107 cm tall can enter for free.

Magic Park

A place where the whole family will experience an unforgettable adventure. Here, you’ll find 15 interactive zones and installations that combine the worlds of digital magic, art, science, games, and cinema. One of the most interesting themed attractions is the immersive museum "Alice in Wonderland," where you can dive into the magical world created based on the works of Lewis Carroll. In the 3D Illusion Museum, visitors can explore creative, three-dimensional decorations and paintings made using augmented reality.

If your children are interested in science and technology, be sure to visit the area dedicated to the inventions of Jules Verne, where they will discover steam engines, unusual flying machines, engineering structures, and a huge Tesla coil.

End the tour on the submarine "Nautilus." For thrill-seekers, there’s the "Vortex" tunnel attraction, which creates a distorted gravity effect and helps train the vestibular system. The "Jump Up" play zone with soft half-spheres that react to jumps will delight children with bright, colorful projections on the walls, ceiling, and floor.

SkyPark

In one of the captivating corners of the Akhshtyr Gorge, at a height of 207 meters, you will find the unique entertainment complex SkyPark. Start your walk on the "Skybridge" — the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in Russia, offering stunning views of the mountains, forests, and the sea.

For thrill-seekers, there is the "Zipline," a high-speed cable ride that lets you fly over the Akhshtyr Gorge at speeds of 60 km/h. For the bravest, there's the "Bungee" jump from a height of 207 meters. The world’s highest swings, the "SochiSwing," will add a romantic touch to your extreme adventure. The flight reaches a height of 170 meters, and the free fall lasts about three seconds.

Galactica

The entertainment center Galactica at the "Gazprom" resort (Krasnaya Polyana) is a world of fun where everyone can find something to enjoy. Here, you can immerse yourself in virtual reality, swim in the water park with numerous pools and water attractions, watch movies in the 3D cinema, and skate on the ice rink.

The "Déjà Vu" Wax Museum allows children to see their favorite characters in life size, while at the "Experimentus" exhibit, they can explore over a hundred scientific devices, such as Newton's Pendulum, Archimedes' Lever, Leonardo da Vinci's Bridge, and the Electrophorus Machine.

The "Wow Park" transports visitors to a magical world with the help of light, sound, and interactive elements. In the water park, you can enjoy water slides, pools, a "lazy river," and relax in the sauna with a hammam and jacuzzi.

Sochi Discovery World Aquarium

In the 30 large aquariums of Sochi Discovery World, around four thousand marine inhabitants live, including fish, rays, moray eels, and turtles. Visitors to the oceanarium can not only observe the underwater world but also watch shark feedings — this spectacle will leave an impression even on adults. Special attention is drawn to two ponds with vibrant Japanese carp that can be fed while watching them gather in a school and leap out of the water. Children under 3 years old can enter for free.

Adler Monkey Nursery

This is one of the oldest primatological centers in the world and the only place in Russia where 23 species of primates, totaling around five thousand individuals, live. These include macaques, monkeys, baboons, black mangabeys, Japanese macaques, and others.

The inhabitants of the medical primatology center are active and curious, and the information on the enclosures provides an opportunity for interesting discussions and expanding knowledge.

Children under 7 years old can visit the nursery for free.

Dolphinarium

Here, visitors of all ages can enjoy amazing shows featuring dolphins, sea lions, and seals. Between performances, you can swim with the dolphins or take a dolphin therapy course.

Children under 5 years old — free admission.

Sochi Zoo

In the Mamayka district, comfortable conditions have been created for rare animals such as black panthers, leopards, white tigers, cheetahs, lions, pumas, and endangered species of turtles. The information plaques at the enclosures contain interesting facts that parents can share with their children.

Children under 3 years old — free admission.

Tea Houses in Uch-Dere

For tea lovers, history enthusiasts, and those who enjoy scenic landscapes, the tea houses in Uch-Dere are an ideal spot. Children will enjoy running around the well-maintained grounds, trying different treats, while adults can explore and photograph the ancient estates and the surrounding nature, creating new family memories.

Children under 3 years old — free admission.

Mega Museum of the USSR

Here, you can find vintage Soviet toys, clothing, tape recorders, photo and radio equipment, bicycles, and much more. These historical items allow visitors to dive into the past. The recreated interiors help children imagine what life was like for their grandparents and great-grandparents. In the museum, you can not only look at the exhibits but also touch them, try on clothes, and even play on old arcade machines.

Children under 7 years old — free admission.

Nikola Tesla Museum

Visitors will learn about the life and discover the principles behind the inventions of the great scientist. The exhibition will conclude with the "Megavolt — Master of Lightning" show, which will impress the audience but may be too loud and bright for young children, so be prepared to cover their ears.

Rosa Khutor

In 2009, a ski resort was built on the banks of a river. 13 slopes are certified by the International Ski Federation, and 28 lifts have been constructed. Rosa Khutor offers a variety of year-round activities, including a rope park and an observation deck.

Matsesta Tea Plantation

Located about 400 meters above sea level, the Matsesta Tea Plantation, known since 1947, is equipped with a tea factory that handles the entire process: from cultivation and harvesting to the processing of black and green tea leaves. Matsesta tea is renowned for its frost resistance, withstanding temperatures as low as –16°C. A tour of this production facility will be especially interesting: visitors can observe every stage of tea processing, enjoy stunning views, and take photos to remember the experience. However, access to the plantation is only available with an excursion group or by paying for a photoshoot, so we recommend planning your visit in advance.

Yupsharsky Canyon

The road to Lake Ritsa passes through Yupsharsky Canyon, which captivates with its beauty: towering rocks covered with moss, boxwoods, and ivy surround the area. The canyon is sometimes referred to as the "stone sack" due to the narrowing known as the Yupshar Gates. Looking up, you can only see a narrow strip of sky. The Yupshara River flows through the bottom of the gorge.

Not far from the canyon are popular tourist attractions, such as the "Maiden Tears" waterfall, the "Men's Tears" waterfall, and the Gegsky waterfall.

Olympic Park

The venue was built for the 2014 Winter Olympics and includes six ice palaces, the "Sochi Autodrom," the "Formula 1" museum, and the singing fountain shaped like a magical firebird, with water jets soaring high to diverse music. Each ice palace is unique. The "Fisht" ice stadium, for example, resembles a semi-open shell and can accommodate up to 40,000 spectators. The "Ice Cube" curling club has a seating capacity of 3,000 viewers. The "Adler Arena" has now become a tennis academy.

Dendrarium

The park is home to trees, shrubs, and plants from around the world — around 2,000 species, some of which bloom even in winter. The park is located on the slopes of the mountain, and the first part of the path can be traversed by cable car, with the option to walk back down. There are several areas to explore, including a grotto, a bamboo grove, a pavilion with parrots, a manor with a garden, and fountains from different eras. From the highest point, you can enjoy a picturesque view of Sochi. You can spend several hours here, strolling, taking breaks for a picnic or snack, or even rent a golf cart for easier movement around the park.

Nautilus

This large entertainment complex is located in the village of Lazarevskoye. It features six water slides, four pools, relaxation areas with sunbeds, cafes, and showers.

Aquapark "AquaLoo"

The aquapark offers small slides, special pools, geysers, and waterfalls for children, while adults can enjoy animation, foam parties, swimming pools, saunas, and covered areas in case of bad weather.

It’s important to follow the park's rules: parents should put life jackets on children at the entrance, hold toddlers by the hand, and keep an eye on older children. There are also height restrictions for the slides.
