Sochi offers a wide selection of beaches: paid, free, and wild, so you can visit several of them and choose the one that suits you best. The clean coastline stretches from Magri to Adler, covering a distance of over 100 kilometers.
"Riviera" Beach
The beach is located near the park of the same name. Entrance is free. Most of the coastline is covered with soft sand, which changes to medium and large pebbles closer to the sea. The depth near the shore is about 1.5 meters. At the edge of the beach, the Sochi River starts, and the water is murky, so it’s better to relax in the middle of the beach or move to the other side. Convenient wooden walkways are laid throughout the area, and for those seeking active entertainment, water slides are installed, leading directly into the sea. The infrastructure is well thought out: changing rooms, shower cabins, and toilets provide comfort for vacationers.
On "Riviera" beach, everyone will find something to enjoy:
- Morning yoga sessions for all who want to join
- Water activities
- Beach volleyball, football, even chess
- Mini-pools for children and sand pits for building castles
Within walking distance, you’ll find the park and the Sea Port. In the evenings, live music plays here, local cafes are open, and discos create a fun and relaxed atmosphere for visitors. From the city center, you can walk along the Sochi River promenade or take public transport to the "Park Riviera" stop.
"Mayak" Beach
This is one of the most famous beaches, named after the nearby lighthouse with a century-old history. The pebble beach, about 350 meters long, is located just east of the Marine Port. It gets crowded during the summer season. In 2022-2023, it underwent "renovation." Entry is free, but keep in mind that service prices are quite "Sochi-style." There are sunbeds, umbrellas, and canopies for those who want to hide from the sun, as well as showers and changing rooms for visitors' convenience. For water activities, you can enjoy jet skis, catamarans, and a spot for snorkeling. "Mayak" is right by the promenade, where you can visit local shops, cafes, or explore cultural and historical landmarks.
"Primorsky" Beach
The beach, stretching about 700 meters, offers excellent conditions for family recreation due to its convenient entry into the water and gentle bottom. The area is equipped with changing cabins, toilets, showers, and a medical center. Anyone can visit and relax here. You can rent a catamaran, yacht, or boat, as well as enjoy various water attractions such as "tubes," "bananas," and zorbs. After swimming, take a stroll along the central promenade with many cafes and restaurants, where you can taste local dishes and visit cultural and historical landmarks of the city.
"Pearl" Beach
This 300-meter-long beach belongs to the hotel of the same name, located in the heart of Sochi. It is divided into two areas: a concrete platform and a section with sand and pebble coverage. The entrance is paid, except for hotel guests. The sea is protected by five large breakwaters, preventing large waves from forming.
The beach is equipped with all the necessary infrastructure:
- Shower cabins and changing rooms
- A first-aid station for emergencies
- A surfing station
- A spacious terrace with lounge chairs
A playground for children is available. You can also take a walk in Frunze Park, where there are snack bars and restaurants offering a variety of dishes. The beach is open to visitors from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, so those who prefer evening swimming may want to consider other options.
"Albatross"
If you're looking for a quiet, free beach to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, the small beach with the rare gray sand typical for Sochi is an excellent choice. Located in the New Sochi area, it stretches for about 200 meters with a width of nearly 20 meters. The sea here is always calm, and the gradual descent into the water ensures a comfortable and safe rest for families with children. Many locals and tourists who prefer a peaceful atmosphere particularly appreciate the absence of crowds, even during the peak season. However, there is quite a steep paved descent to the sea, which can be tiring, especially in hot weather.
"Velvet Seasons"
A free pebble beach, located away from the railroad, is open to visitors daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. It is located at the border of Abkhazia. From the coastline, visitors can enjoy picturesque views of the surrounding nature, beautiful mountains, and the Black Sea. There is a parking lot nearby to accommodate vehicles. For guest convenience, changing rooms and toilets are provided. Despite the large pebbles, which may cause slight discomfort, the use of special footwear, such as aqua shoes, solves this problem. The beach offers attractions for children: inflatable slides, play islands, swings, and mazes, complemented by animators’ entertainment. The entry into the sea is gentle, with a shallow water zone and a special area suitable for bathing with children. During evening walks, visitors can enjoy the "Friendship of Nations" musical fountain show, providing a perfect photo opportunity.
"Barracuda"
This municipal beach with developed infrastructure is located north of the resort town of Adler, near the "Znanije" health resort. Entrance is free, and for the convenience of visitors, there are changing rooms, showers, and toilets. "Barracuda" is popular, so it can get quite crowded. To make the experience more fun and engaging, competitions for both children and adults are held during the day. In the evening, the promenade comes alive, with numerous bars and restaurants inviting guests to enjoy music, cocktails, and local dishes.
"Chayka"
This beach, stretching over 1 kilometer, is one of the longest in Sochi. It’s easy to find a free spot here. The beach is conditionally divided into several areas: "Chayka-1", "Chayka-2", and a separate children's beach with a pool and slides. You can always find a spot according to your preferences – from a more peaceful and secluded rest to active entertainment with children. The shore is covered with fine pebbles that gradually transition into sand. It’s easy to walk between the sunbeds as there are wooden walkways leading to the sea. Showers, toilets, and changing rooms are provided for free. In addition to sunbeds and umbrellas, you can also rent a bungalow if you plan to spend the whole day on the beach.
"Chayka" is known for its variety of entertainment for both children and adults. In the northern part, there’s a trampoline and an inflatable pool for little ones, as well as rental points for "bananas" and "tubes" for more active visitors. There’s also a shooting range and opportunities to fly a paraglider or try diving. In the evenings, various entertainment events, fire shows, and performances by artists and musicians are held.
"Mandarin"
This wide beach in Adler is located near the famous parks – South Cultures, Adler, and the Olympic Park. Unlike other beaches, it belongs to a shopping and entertainment center and is also known as "VinoGrad".
"Mandarin" is loved for its convenient location, high cleanliness and safety standards, and its fine gray sand. The beach is equipped with showers, changing rooms, and a toilet located on the "Mandarin" complex's premises. Visitors can take lessons in windsurfing and SUP-surfing with experienced instructors, or rent sports equipment. For water enthusiasts, there are catamarans and boats available. In the evenings, discos are organized on the beach, creating a great atmosphere for relaxation and fun after sunset. The entrance to the "Mandarin" beach is free.
"Imeretinsky" Beach
Located on the Imeretinsky Promenade in Adler, this well-maintained beach is part of the infrastructure of the eponymous hotel. The main advantage of the beach is the artificial embankment with sand covering. Despite the sand, the sea entrance is pebbly, which is something to consider for those who prefer a smoother entry into the water. All essential amenities such as showers, toilets, and changing rooms are available for an additional fee. Throughout the day, various events are organized, including yoga classes and foam parties. One of the main attractions is the sailing regattas organized by the nearby yacht club, which can be observed directly from the shore. Visitors can also rent bicycles to explore the surroundings and enjoy walks along the promenade.
Just 290 meters from Imeretinsky Beach is the modern and cozy "Mantera Supreme" hotel, which is considered one of the best in the Sirius district. The hotel offers 12 types of rooms and suites, including designer apartments equipped with everything you need, from high-speed Wi-Fi to a luxurious bathroom and an extended set of accessories.
