The Parks of Sochi30 May

Krasnodar Krai offers many parks that are pleasant to walk in, especially during the summer, and you can take plenty of bright photos against the backdrop of waterfalls and wonderful corners of nature. The magic of the Sochi resort begins with festive mimosa in March, followed by the blooming magnolia.

"Solokhaul" Recreation Park

Located 40 km from the center of Sochi, between the mountains and the sea, the recreation park offers guests a variety of activities: from aerolifts and ziplines to hot air balloon flights and BTR (armored vehicle) rides. The park has two main areas: the "Green Glade" with activities for all ages, and the "Zipline" area, where viewing platforms and cafes are set up.

Waterfall Park at the Rosa Khutor Resort

Located far from the city hustle, in the mountains, there is a park that can be visited by taking a bus, train, or car to Rosa Khutor, then ascending by cable car to the destination. The walk from the cable car to the park will take several kilometers, during which you can admire picturesque, though not very high, waterfalls.

Yew-boxwood Grove

The Yew-boxwood Grove is a unique natural reserve located near the Khosta River. It is rich in rare plant species, with the yew and evergreen boxwood being particularly prominent. Also found here are beech, oak, maple, and hornbeam. Visitors can choose between two excursion routes: the Small Circle, which goes through a deep gorge, or the Large Circle, covering 5 kilometers of picturesque trails. Additional attractions include a natural spring, a karst cave, and the ruins of an ancient fortress, making this area not only beautiful but also historically significant.

Sochi Park

This national park of Russia, opened in 1983, is home to a unique flora and fauna, some of which are listed in the Red Book. The park features ancient monuments, medieval structures, and beautiful natural landmarks. It is divided into the following sections: "Dendrarium," "Southern Cultures," "The Leopard Restoration Center in the Caucasus," and "The Azov Reserve."

The "Southern Cultures" park was established in the early 20th century and differed from other suburban parks by having its center not around the owner's mansion but rather a location from which paths and decorative elements spread out in rays. After the revolution, the land was transferred to the state farm, and during the harsh years, the main focus was on vegetable farming, causing the park to fall into disrepair, with many plants dying and the landscape disrupted. Since the early 1980s, the park has experienced several storms, lost a third of its botanical collection, and declined. The park's staff restored the plane tree and eucalyptus alleys, and today it houses rare plants from around the world, allowing for year-round blooming.

The "Dendrarium" is the first monument to garden and park art, founded in 1889. Spanning 49 hectares, it features palms, cypress trees, magnolias, and around 1,800 types of exotic plants, along with various animals such as ostriches, nutrias, swans, and squirrels.

The park is divided into zones, each showcasing the flora of a specific region, including the Caucasus, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. A cable car route passes over the park, offering views of the mountains and the sea. The garden also contains pavilions, fountains, and sculptures.

Ticket prices for the "Dendrarium":

  • Adults: 250 rubles;
  • Free entry for children up to 7 years old;
  • Teenagers from 7 to 14 years old: 120 rubles.

Address: Sochi, Kurortny Prospekt 74

Riviera Park

Visitors to the "Riviera" park will find a wide variety of exciting attractions. "Riviera" is a popular leisure destination with the Green Theatre, a variety of rides, numerous cafes, and shops. Both adults and children can get lost in the mirror maze, ride the steep slopes of the roller coaster, face a shark eye-to-eye, and even pet a marine dolphin. Entrance to the park is free.

Currently, the park is home to 240 species of plants, with unique features such as the "Pine Grove," a reconciliation bench, and the "Fountain of Love" at the entrance.

In the Aquarium and Dolphinarium, visitors can immerse themselves in the world of underwater flora and fauna. Guests can also enjoy free access to the "Plastunskaya" mineral water spring and relax on the beach.

Primorsky Park

In this park, near the entrance to the library building, you can see a monument to the poet A.S. Pushkin and a small rose garden. This place is loved by both adults and young visitors.

Sochi Park

Sochi Park is a vast amusement park located next to the Olympic Park. The park is perfect for family vacations: both children and adults enjoy spending time on the carousels, watching dolphin shows and color-music performances, and meeting fairytale characters. Due to the large area and variety of attractions, it is impossible to experience everything in one day, especially during peak season when queues can form. Access to Sochi Park is the same as for the Olympic Park, as they are located close to each other.

Olympic Park

The park, known for its sports facilities and theme park attractions, was built in the Adler district of Sochi for the 2014 Winter Olympics.

It houses museums, the Formula 1 track, and a color-music fountain, which can be enjoyed and listened to for free in the evenings. The Olympic Park can be accessed by bus, electric train, or car. It is now part of the Federal Territory "Sirius." Despite the changes, access to its 200-hectare area remains open to everyone.
